Are you passionate about transforming chemistry education through creative and engaging hands-on learning approaches? Join the first cohort of our Chemistry Teacher Advisory Board (CTAB) and help shape the future of chemistry education innovation in India!
The Centre for Creative Learning (CCL) at IIT Gandhinagar (IITGn) is a pioneering initiative dedicated to bringing creativity and innovation into education. Over the past 7 years, CCL has worked with various educational boards, including state governments, CBSE, KVs, JNVs, and private schools. With over 120,000 STEM kits distributed across states and more than 20,000 teachers engaged through workshops, CCL has made significant strides in bringing creative chemistry learning experiences to schools. CCL’s popular online channels have over 4.6 lakh YouTube subscribers and 1.4 lakh Instagram followers, and its online program 3030 STEM / 3030 Eklavya had more than 5 lakh registrations, with over 1 Crore viewers.
As CCL continues to expand, we are seeking passionate and like-minded chemistry teachers to join the Chemistry Teacher Advisory Board (CTAB) and help us drive educational innovation in chemistry education.
Role of the Chemistry Teacher Advisory Board (CTAB)

Testing, Piloting, and Feedback on Chemistry Kits:
As a member of the CTAB, you will provide valuable insights on the usability and relevance of CCL’s Chemistry kits and manuals, which are used by students across multiple states and educational boards. Your feedback will help ensure that the kits are practical and effective for classroom use.
Additionally, CTAB members will help pilot new features and products, providing real-world feedback to address any potential issues before a larger rollout.

Classroom Insights:
With your first hand experience in the classroom, you will provide valuable perspectives on student behaviors, challenges, and engagement in Chemistry learning. This insight will help us refine our products and teaching methods to better address these challenges.

Curriculum Alignment:
You will assist in aligning the Chemistry kits and manuals with school curricula, educational standards, and the diverse needs of students. Your input will ensure that the kits support key learning objectives and meet national or state educational requirements.

Advocacy for Creative, Microscale, and Green Chemistry Learning:
You will advocate for CCL’s innovative use of microscale and green chemistry methods within your professional networks, helping to build trust and credibility in this forward-thinking approach. By minimizing chemical use and waste, this model makes hands-on Chemistry more accessible, affordable, and safe—overcoming common barriers like limited lab space and high costs, while promoting environmentally responsible and inclusive science education for all learners.

Teacher Training and Professional Development:
CTAB will advise CCL on how best to support teacher training and professional development, ensuring educators are equipped to integrate innovative microscale and green chemistry practices into their classrooms. Your role will be key in empowering teachers with the skills and knowledge to deliver engaging, sustainable, and hands-on chemistry education.

Ethical and Inclusive Practices through Microscale and Green Chemistry:
You will help ensure that CCL continues to adhere to ethical standards and promotes inclusive education, ensuring that tools are accessible and beneficial for all types of learners.

Market Trends and Innovations:
You will help CCL stay updated on trends in Chemistry education and guide the continuous improvement of our innovative, sustainable programs.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking educators who:

Have 5+ years of teaching experience in Chemistry.
-
Demonstrate a commitment to innovative teaching practices.
-
Show commitment to implementing hands-on experiments.
-
Can commit to quarterly meetings (in-person or online) and occasional reviews.

Have experience with or an interest in teacher training.

Time Commitment

Quarterly meetings (in-person or virtual) (if in-person, your travel, boarding, and lodging will be provided by CCL,IIT Gandhinagar).

4-6 hours per month for reviews, feedback, doubt clarification and collaboration.

A one-year term with the possibility of extension for another year based on engagement.

Selection Criteria
We will finalize up to 10 candidates based on:

Teaching experience and expertise in Chemistry.

Understanding of creative learning methods in Chemistry education.

Teaching practices.
-
Communication skills.
-
Commitment to implement experiments in classrooms within their school calendar and engagements.
